As our Legal Cousel, you will play a key role in the Legal, Governance & Risk team, championing and embedding the organisation’s values and culture across the team and broader business. You will bring a proactive, agile mindset, with strong problem-solving and influencing skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage complexity, and balance competing priorities.

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Support the Chief Legal & Risk Officer and Group Legal Counsel in all legal matters with a particular emphasis on the funds and investment management business 
  • Assist on all legal matters including material acquisitions and corporate transactions, capital raises and debt funding to internal business as usual matters 
  • Facilitating external legal advice on material business issues and/or bespoke matters 
  • Reviewing, drafting, and/or negotiating a range of agreements 
  • Assist internal clients to manage legal risk while aligning with business and strategic goals and priorities 
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the business on transactional best practice, emerging regulatory and industry issues 
  • Play a key role in contributing to a strong culture of compliance with legal and regulatory obligations 
  • Manage all legal issues associated with wholesale and private equity real estate vehicles 
  • Advise in relation to corporate governance matters 
  • Advise investment management agreements, property management agreements, trust and registered scheme administration and joint venture investments

 

What you bring: 

  • Experience in property and/or financial services industry
  • Strong technical expertise in both transactional and compliance/regulatory experience of funds management
  • Experience of structuring funds and fundraising would be looked upon favourably, as would experience in property transactions and developments.
  • Relevant experience working on large-scale M&A transactions, ideally in the real estate sector 
  • Sound commercial judgement and a results driven mindset 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior management 
  • A pro-active, agile mindset and strong problem solving and influencing skills 
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and complex situations 
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and ensuring all matters are completed
